Customs & documents
Household goods moving with you can often be imported duty-free, but only if the paperwork is right. We guide you through it in both directions.
Moving to Poland: if you’re transferring your place of residence to Poland, your personal belongings may qualify for duty- and VAT-free import under EU transfer of residence relief. Conditions apply, including how long you lived abroad and how long you’ve owned and used the items.
Moving to the USA: household and personal effects are declared to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, typically on CBP Form 3299.
You’ll usually need:
- copy of your passport(s)
- a detailed inventory list
- customs forms (we help you complete them)
- proof of residence change: visa, residence permit, employment contract or similar
We’ll send you a personalized checklist once we know the details of your move.
